I want to express my condolences for the passing of this wonderful woman. She was so very kind to me. I can't remember the number of times I slept over, ate with the family, played with Finnegan, watched TV and was just around having fun and visiting. The boys, especially Doug and Charlie, but John David as well, adopted me as a pesky little brother. The teasing must have made it worth it to them! I still have fond memories of setting up forts in the woods and in the basement, mud fights, bike rides, and just growing up around the boys and the family. When I struggled to continue with my piano lessons and wanted to give up Shirley encouraged me and took the time to get me back on track. She was always so good to me, as was everyone in this wonderful family.

I want to give my condolences to the entire family, and especially to Doug and Kelly, and Charlie and Julie, since I remember them the most as sometimes Doug and Charlie babysat me. Shirley was a wonderful person. The entire family is made of lovely people, and with Shirley as the matriarch, it is no wonder. Sometimes my mom would send me over to see Shirley on some errand. Other times, I simply wandered over just to say 'hi' or to be a nosy little kid. Her hospitality was always amazing, and oh yes, she often had the most delicious baked goods, as well as a tall cold glass of something that would quench my thirst. Even as a child, I always felt Shirley listened to me and I felt seen by her. She always had a kind word, a hug, and encouraging words. She was a gift to this earth and we are all lucky to have had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.

Doug, Charlie, and families,
Ed and I are very sorry to realize Shirley is no longer with us. She was a wonderful neighbour and friend. We had many enlightening conversations during the past few years of her stay at Bobier Villa... and lots of laughs too.
Shirley had the gift of making you feel like you were the most important person in the world when she talked to you. I love how she always interjected your name when she spoke to you. It showed such awareness, compassion and understanding of the human spirit. We can only think how blessed were those who came into her care during her nursing career. She understood how important it is for a person's healing someone to be there, and at times, just to listen, and hold space. And her care and compassion continued during the rest of her life.
We will miss her as we know all of you will.

Nancy (nee Mott) and Glen Heather. The end of an era, I will always remember family times with the Savory's, Mc Laughlin's, Anguishes, Shaw's. As a young girl our families would congregate on holidays, birthdays, and special occasions, often at Aunt Georgina's. Most of Shirley's generation have passed on nowq, but Shirley helped keep the memories alive. She was a special woman. Rest in Peace, and God Bless.

I had the honour of working with Mrs Lawley at CPRI for most if not all of her career there. She was a fabulois nurse, had a great sense of humour, and a deep passion for her work. She was a great mentor and I do think of her often. God bless your family at this time as I know she will be greatly missed.

Dear Charlie & Julie, Doug & Kelly, Sue & Leslie and families
We are so sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom and Grandma. What a wonderful lady she was! We will never forget her and your Dad holding our wedding rehersal dinner at their house, with all the fixings!
I visited her a few times at Bobier Villa. She had not changed a bit! Always smiling and happy to see visitors.
May the love you have for each other, the memories, and the wonderful legacy she has left here on earth get you through this difficult time.
If you need anything, please let us know.
Love, Lorne, Cindy, Casaundra, Chelsey and families xoxo
