Missing a wonderful lady, mother, sister, grannie and in my case cousin. Memories go back to childhood and sharing holiday experiences on our grandparents farm near New Glasgow. Fun times with Janie, her sister Carol and my brothers Mac, Bill and Rob. Enjoying the company and helping our Uncles Shemus and Vince with the farm chores and enjoying wonderful meals preapared by Nana and Aunt Jean and my mother Kay.
Moving forward to growing up and meeting Jan's husband Tom and continuing to share special holidays and family events. Meeting and having fun wiht Allie, Jenn and Danielle as they arrived on the scene. Sharing many a Christmas visit at my mom's apartment after the passing of the older generations was always a treat.
Hooking up as we all progressed into retirement and sharing the thrill of Jan and Tom's excitment of becoming grand parents and also sharing our adventures in this time. Learning of Jan's cancer was very disturbing but the manner in which she and Tom met this challeng was rewarding to experience. Fortunately she did not experience too much physical pain during the last period and the fact she was able to spend time with her family and dog, Frankie is something for which we can be thankful!
I am also very thankful for her many kindnesses to brother Rob, both when he spent time in the Neuro at University Hospital and when she would visit him and take him to lunch in St. Thomas, especially after my mom had died.
I will listen to Norman Greenbaum's rendition of 'Spirit in the Sky' and think wonderful thoughts of Rob. Allie and Jan!

i was saddened to hear of Jan's passing. I worked with her when she came to 7th floor. She was so kind and friendly to patients and co-workers, with a great sense of humour and a willingness to help at anytime. It was a good day when you worked with Jan! My condolences to her family. Her love for you was so obvious in her conversations.

So sad to hear of Jan's passing. I only knew Jan in the last 5 years. She was one of our birthday "Girls" celebrating each and everyone of our special day. Jan was always interesting to talk with Her family and grandchildren were very important to her. She often talked about her and Toms trips to Florida and their time at the cottage. She displayed courage and determination with her diagnosis. Will miss her at our birthday celebrations. Thoughts and Prayers to Jan's Family.

Jan was truly the epitome of Love. I had the pleasure of growing up with Jan in our little town of Rodney, and have so many awesome memories of our life together for 64 years. Jan was an incredible caring, loving, thoughtful nurse, an excellent wife, and a Wonderful Mother and Loving Nana. Her smile and laugh was infectious and wherever Jan was, there was FUN, music, and dancing. She sang so beautifully and as a little girl won many contests that I remember so clearly. She was my Best Friend and I could write a book on her qualities, her calm, kind hearted nature that she always maintained no matter the situation. She was Strong as well, proof on how hard she fought to stay with her Family and her friends. Jan had a huge impact on me and my life and helped me through tough times like no one else ever could, but most of all she made me HAPPY!! She was “the Sister” I never had. I miss Janie so much, but am so thankful I was Blessed to have her as long as I did. She was an Angel on earth, but is now a true Angel in Heaven.
I and Gary extend our sincerest condolences to her husband Tom of 44 years, her two Beautiful daughters, Jennifer and Danielle, and their children, her Sister Carol and her husband Winston, and all her Family that grieve the loss of an unforgettable, Amazing Woman. She definitely was one of a kind.
I Love You Janie, and know one day we will meet again and when we do we will sing and dance together again.

Tom.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I know how difficult a time this is and trust you will find strength in the memories you had together.
The best piece of advice I received was to not look for a reason that this happened because there isn’t one.
Take care of yourself.

I am so sorry to be hearing about Janet's passing. Through our years in high school Janet and I worked at the original Rodney swimming pool, teaching swimming lessons and lifeguarding. She lived half a block away and that summer job was the best of times. We never wanted those summers to end as we laughed and sang and grew up. How many kids from the area learned to swim under her wings? My heart felt condolences to you, Tom and family. Jo-Anne Stephens(nee Trupish)

My heartfelt sympathy on Jan's passing. I worked with Jan for many years at UH after the pediatric service was transferred to Victoria and she moved to the neurosciences unit. Jan always had a positive attitude and a smile no matter how crazy our shifts were! She had such a caring and empathetic way with patients that was a pleasure to witness. I feel blessed to have worked alongside her.
Rest in peace Jan

I will always remember Jan's ever-present laugh and smile, and the good times we shared in Grand Bend. Her light shall not be dimmed by her passing, but will instead continue to shine brightly through all who loved her, particularly her family and grandchildren. She showed tremendous courage through her illness, and spent a life dedicated to acts of service for others. For this and many other reasons, she will be remembered as a joyful, selfless warrior.
In time, may the burden of your grief be eased by the warmth of your memories.
Sending all my love and support to Tom, Jen, Danielle and family.

I met Jan and Tom in Florida. They parked their RV next to us and we became fast friends. Jan always was smiles and laughter. We were lucky enough for them to visit us in Virginia and we got to come to both London and Grand Bend. She is now at peace and reunited with Allison. Our prayers go out to Tom, Jennifer and Danielle.
